Trim path

Showing only part of a stroke so lines appear to draw themselves.

In short

A trim path shows only a part of a shape's stroke, between a start and an end percentage, and animating those values makes a line look like it draws itself, as in logo reveals, check marks and progress rings.

In more detail

  • An offset value moves the visible part along the path, for spinners and dashes that travel.

In Ova Motion

In Ova Motion add a trim to a stroke in the inspector and key its start, end or offset on the timeline.

Questions

Can a trim path animate a filled shape?

It trims the stroke. To reveal a fill, animate a mask or the shape's scale instead.
