Ova Motion ships egg-mcp, a local MCP server (stdio) whose tools let AI agents create shapes, animations, state machines and view model properties, render a PNG to check their work and bake an .egg file. The editor also has a built-in agent that works with your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or a local Ollama.
- Server
- egg-mcp, runs on your computer, MCP over stdio
- Agents
- Claude Code, Codex, goose, opencode and any MCP client
- Tools
- Shapes, animations, state machines, view models, render PNG, bake .egg
- Built-in agent
- Bring your own key; also runs agents over the Agent Client Protocol
- Files
- Works on a .eggproj you can open in the editor at any time
What an agent can do
- Draw shapes, text and groups with fills, strokes and gradients.
- Add animations and keys with easing.
- Build state machines with inputs and transitions, and view model properties with bindings.
- Render a PNG of the result to look at its own work and fix it.
- Bake an .egg file ready for a runtime.
Set it up
egg-mcp ships inside the desktop app, next to the egg command line tool. Add it to your agent's MCP configuration as a stdio server; the AI agents doc has the exact steps for Claude Code and others.
Why a real file beats a generated video
Text-to-video models give you pixels you cannot edit. An agent working through egg-mcp gives you layers, keys and states you can open, adjust by hand and ship in an app.
