AI agents (MCP)
The built-in agent
The Agent window works with your own key from DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or OpenRouter, a local Ollama, or any server with an OpenAI-compatible API. It can also run an agent program installed on your computer (goose, Claude, opencode) over the Agent Client Protocol. Keys never go into your projects.
The MCP server
egg-mcp ships with the desktop app. It runs on your computer and speaks MCP over stdio, so local agents can use it without any network setup. Its tools create shapes, animations, state machines and view model properties, check the result, render a PNG and bake an .egg. Every tool works on a .eggproj file, saved after each change, so you can open the same file in the editor.
Setting it up

}Codex
~/.codex/config.tomlCodex
[mcp_servers.egg] command = "/Applications/Ova Motion.app/Contents/MacOS/egg-mcp" args = ["--root", "/Users/you/Documents/egg-projects"]
--root keeps the agent inside one folder. Install the egg skill for your agent with egg skills claude (or agents, opencode) so it knows how to use the tools well.
