Data binding in animation connects properties of a design, such as a text, a colour or a bar's length, to values in a view model that the app sets while it runs, so the animation shows real data without new animations.
In more detail
- A view model is a named set of properties: numbers, booleans, strings, colours, enums, triggers, pictures and lists.
- Converters shape the value on the way: formulas, rounding, clamping, range maps and text formats.
- Instances of a view model act as themes or sample data in the editor.
In Ova Motion
In Ova Motion you create a view model in the Logic workspace and bind properties to it in the inspector. Apps set the values with vm_set_number, vm_set_string and the other view model calls of the runtime.
